Job Purpose:

The Territory Sales Manager (TSM) will be responsible for achieving sales targets, managing distributor operations, expanding market presence, and developing a strong retail network within the assigned territory. The TSM plays a critical role in driving growth, implementing trade strategies, and ensuring excellence in market execution.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned territory.

  • Manage distributor relationships, ensure proper stock levels, timely billing, and effective secondary sales generation.

  • Drive numeric and weighted distribution of Marico’s products across retail outlets.

  • Implement and monitor trade promotions and visibility initiatives in the marketplace.

  • Coach and lead a team of Sales Officers and ensure their performance aligns with business goals.

  • Analyze market trends, competition activities, and consumer behavior to provide actionable insights.

  • Ensure compliance with Marico’s standards and processes, including reporting, route planning, and market coverage.

  • Build strong relationships with key retailers, wholesalers, and distributors.

  • Conduct regular market visits to monitor execution and gather market intelligence.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).

  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in FMCG sales, preferably managing distributors and retail markets.

  • Strong knowledge of local market dynamics.

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
